Corrections Division

The Sabine Parish Detention Center is capable of housing 134 male inmates.  Female inmates are housed in the jail located on the third floor of the Sabine Parish Courthouse and has a capacity of 29.

Your parish jail provides inmates for several work crews that operate daily throughout the parish providing critical services.

Police Jury Crew 1: (2-4 inmates) Work to help maintain parish roads and right-of-ways
Police Jury Crew 2: (2-4 inmates) Work to help maintain parish roads and right-of-ways
SRA: (3-4 inmates) Maintain SRA park sites
Litter pick-up crew: (6-8 inmates) Pick up litter along state highways
Mowing/Clean-up crew: (3-4 inmates) Mow and clean up various indigent cemeteries, The Council on Aging, Taylor House, Project Celebration, VFW, House of Hope, National Guard Armory, Shriner’s Club, etc.

*Assist with set up and maintenance of area festivals

*Assist with various public functions (cleaning, painting, sandbags, moving furniture)
